Service Desk Users (aka SDU) is a free online user community for CA Unicenter Service Desk, and is neither owned nor operated by CA, Inc. SDU combines both forum and wiki capabilities in a single web site.
Concept
The concept of SDU is to provide a community for experts and novices to share Service Desk knowledge. Membership is unrestricted and requires only a unique login and email address. Anonymity is at the discretion of each member. The site is financed through the sale of advertising space.

*Forum - provides a quick and simple platform for posting questions, finding solutions, or helping others. *Wiki - a library of Service Desk knowledge contributed by site members. *Calendar - a source for upcoming CA, industry, and SDU events. *Private Messenger - allows member-to-member communication while maintaining anonymity. *Yellow Pages - a listing of companies skilled in supporting CA's Service Desk software. *Search Provider/Engine Plug-ins - searching SDU content via IE7 and Firefox 2.x/3.x search bar. *RSS Feeds - recent forum posts, recent wiki changes, and newest wiki pages all available via RSS subscriptions
Design
SDU is built using MediaWiki, Invision Power Board and IpbWiki.
History
July 13, 2008 - SDU and @ServiceDay, the European Service Desk forum, agree to combine efforts, whereby shutting down the @ServiceDay website and adding the compiled knowledge from its site to the SDU wiki.
July 12, 2008 - SDU offers exclusive IE7 and Firefox 2.x/3.x Search Provider/Engine Plug-ins that allow users to directly access Service Desk tickets and assets from their own web browser
March 25, 2008 - SDU membership reaches 500.
February 4, 2008 - ServiceDeskUsers.com is released to the general public.
