VCENotes

VCENotes is an Australian education website targeted at students in Victoria. It is well regarded by VCE students who take advantage of free study notes for the VCE courses. An extensive student community has evolved around its forum, which is frequented by school students, teachers and a growing number of university students. As well as offering students free study notes and a forum, an online 'viki' has been created which explains the VCE and its processes, something not well understood by most students completing the VCE.

History
The website was created on October 19, 2007 by VCE student Daniel Levy in retaliation to the slow server speeds experienced on rival student community Bored of Studies. VCENotes was created as freestudynotes.com, however this title was changed for the more suitable title that it is today.

Influence and criticism
VCENotes has become an increasingly popular site for VCE students, with a membership of over 2100 and more than 35 thousand monthly hits. It is increasingly becoming a tool for teachers who direct their students to the valuable resources on the site such as revision notes, concept maps, past papers and practice essays.

Recent developments
Recently launched by VCENotes is the Viki (VCENotes Viki), a wiki collection of VCE related information and resources using the MediaWiki software to allow contributions. There has also been suggestions that VCENotes exams may be produced for the 2008 end of year exams.
