Senad Gashi (born 20 April 1990, , SFR Yugoslavia, today Kosovo) is a professional German boxer with Kosovar-Albanian roots. In 1999 he moved with his family to Germany and lived since the beginning of his career as a professional boxer in Zweibrücken and Hamburg. Currently he is the GBU heavyweight champion. Background As a teenanger Gashi won lots of different martial arts competitions e.g. in kickboxing or karate. He was kickboxing worldchampion in his age group that time. In 2012 he was German open winner in hand-fencing (light contact boxing). In the semifinal he won against the eightfold world champion in kickboxing Karsten Krüger. In the final round he has beaten Europe and vice world champion Muhammed Halli on points. In 2013 he competed against a Muay thai world champion, Köksal Orduhan. He won the fight unanimously by points after four knockdowns although he was only using the classical boxing style. He also showed talent in freestyle football, where he reached the title German Champion, table tennis and billard. In the end he decided to specialize on the classical boxing. In May 2014 his professial career started. Before Gashi started with boxing as his main occupation he studied six semesters financial services at the FH Kaiserslautern (2010-2013). In 2013 he got a sport scholarship and started to study fitness economics at DHfpG (Deutsche Hochschule für Prävention und Gesundheitswesen) in Saarbrücken. Already after his first training he competed at the Saarlandmeisterschaften (Saarland championships) and won. From his 98 amateur fights he just lost eight, had four drawn and won 50 of his victories through K.O. Professional On 17 May 2014 Senad Gashi had his debut as a professional boxer. He won the fight with a K.O. victory in first round. Since the 21st of May 2016 he is the GBU Heavyweight World Champion and got it with a first round K.O. victory. Gashi is boxing at EC Boxpromotion. His promoter is Erol Ceylan. His supervisors are Marco Wiebelt and Martin Kristek. Boxing style Gashi is lefthanded and boxes unsually also in the orthodox fighting position.
