Scarlett Pong

Scarlett Pong Oi Lan (born 1959 in Hong Kong) is the elected member of Sha Tin District Council (Fo Tan). She is a registered pharmacist and investment consultant. She is married with a son.
She was also a television presenter in RoadShow, the broadcast media in Hong Kong's KMB buses. During that time, she hosted a popular TV programme called "Meeting Room of Scarlett Pong", which interviewed several famous politicians and academics in the territory.
Politicial life
Pong is the member of New Century Forum, a pro- political party in Hong Kong.
In 2004, Pong ran for legislative council election for the functional constituency on health services sector, but she lost.
In 2007, Pong took part in district council election in Sha Tin District (Fo Tan), and she won over Richard Tsoi, a Hong Kong democrat.
In 2008, Pong acted as an independent candidate to ran for legislative council election for the geographical constituency (New Territories East). She surrendered her Canadian citizenship to do so. But she was criticized by her pan-democracy camp candidates for minimizing her close relation with pro-Beijing authorities. Finally, she lost but with more-than-expected results of getting over 50,000 votes. She had similar number of votes with another defeated candidate, James Tien, although it was the first time that she had run for geographical constituency election.
