Saltine aka The Mad Rapper

Born June 2, 1967 Saltine aka The Mad Rapper(Jon H. Harris) is a recording artist from Owosso, Michigan. Dating back to the late 80's, he is considered by many to be one of the first pioneering "white boy" rappers. His remake of the 1960s classic "96 Tears" which featured the songs original creator Question Mark from the famed Question Mark & the Mysterians on backing vocals paved the way to much publicity including an associated press story on the remake. This also led to a recording contract with Pandisc Records in Miami, concerts and global airplay. WWCK 105fm in Flint, Michigan and Radio DRS1 in Switzerland were proven to be the launching pad for the songs success with radio programmers.
Having numerous releases on Pandisc Records, DM Records and Virgin Records, Saltine aka The Mad Rapper is more widely known for his single "The Girl Is Hot" which was a featured song on Fox Television's starring Mimi Rogers. In addition to becoming a success at urban radio, the song also garnered high praise from the widely respected .
Most recently, his work with guitar legend Rick Derringer led to an internet sensation titled "New Place To Nest" which showcases Derringer's guitar playing ability. Saltine aka The Mad Rapper currently resides in Kansas City.
