Gerhard Calitz

Gerhard Calitz (born 21 September 1979) is a South African poet. He released his first volume of poetry named Stare into Darkness in late 2009 under Red Path Publications, the book mainly contained poetry about his personal life. The poetry was well received on Facebook which led to his own website being created. As soon as Stare into Darkness was released he was already asked to write a second volume of poetry. On his 31st birthday in 2010 he released A Tribute’s Tale which saw Gerhard experiment with a different style of poetry by dedicating a lot of his poems to various people that he surrounded himself with. Gerhard has since been asked to write poetry for the syllabus of various high schools across South Africa. In early 2011 Gerhard was asked to write lyrics for up and coming singers. He is currently working on his first novel. |
