Maranatha Care Children is a non-profit charity (Charity No: XT18766) aiming to help South African children by offering development in education and life skills, providing suitable home environments and safeguarding the futures of those in care. Background Maranatha Care Children was founded in 2009 by Harrison Nash. Nash set up the charity Maranatha Care Children to fund projects in South Africa, primarily in the Port Elizabeth area. He is already supporting Protea Primary School and Maranatha Children's Home, both in Port Elizabeth. Since 2007 he embarked on fundraising to improve the facilities and offer greater opportunities to the children at the projects the charity supports. Nash won a Gold Star Award from The Herald and First Devon and Cornwall in February 2009 for his work in South Africa and his subsequent fundraising. Values Maranatha Care Children works with a belief that South African orphans, street children and other young people at risk, should not be denied the opportunities that every child deserves. They aim to empower children and young people to fulfill their full potential, providing individualised support, working alongside those in care to come up with personal plans that respond to their own needs. They seek to provide private education and additional therapy, life skills training, improving living conditions and safeguarding the future of young people in care coming to the end of their schooling. Fundraising Maranatha Care Children is a registered non-profit charity relying on donations from the public to carry out charitable objectives.
