Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey is a specialty referral and 24-hour emergency hospital, which means it employs Board Certified veterinarians known as specialists. The hospital is located in Woolwich Township, New Jersey.
Recognition
The American Animal Hospital Association has accredited Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey as a "Referral" practice in the disciplines of Feline & Canine Specialty, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Radiology. Other departments that are not accredited, either because AAHA does not accredit the discipline or because the discipline is led at Saint Francis by veterinarians who are not Board Certified specialists, include: Avian & Exotic Medicine, Holistic & Natural Medicine, Feline Hyperthyroidism/Nuclear Medicine, Physical Rehabilitation and Oncology Services.
Saint Francis Veterinary Center partnered with Major League Baseball Player Jimmy Rollins and his wife, Johari, to create the Rollins Center for Animal Rehabilitation. Rollins opened the Center after going through physical rehabilitation himself, and he wanted to offer pets the same level of care he received as a professional athlete. The Rollins Center focuses technologies used in human medicine on pets as a way to advance the care animal companions receive, including hydrotherapy, therapeutic laser therapy, digital gait analysis, neuromuscular electric stimulation and an array of exercise programs for animals. The Grand Opening event for The Rollins Center was attended by Phillies President David Montgomery, Congressman Frank LoBiondo of New Jersey, Congressman Chaka Fattah of Philadelphia, Congressman Pat Meehan of Pennsylvania, and a representative from Senator Bob Menendez' office.
In April of 2013, United States Senator Bob Menendez of New Jersey recognized Saint Francis Veterinary Center with a Certificate of Special Senate Recognition for the hospital's "outstanding and innovative approach to veterinary medicine".
