The Rusty Mike American Sports show began in October of 2009 and airs weekly on Wednesday nights from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. in Jerusalem.
The show's guest list includes world class athletes and personalities from Israel and beyond. Israeli Athletes featured three time National Figure Skating Champion Tamar Katz,WBA Super-Welterweight Champion of the World Yuri Foreman,National College Basketball champion Shay Doron and current Ice Dancing national champion Roman Zaretsky. The mission of the show is to marry coverage of sports in American with coverage of American sports in Israel. As such, the show is the main media outlet for the Israel Football League (IFL). The Rusty Mike American Sports show has had guests from all seven IFL teams, including a special Israel Bowl media show which featured I.F.L. championship MVP Evan Reshef and reigning regular season IFL MVP Itay Ashkanazi. The show focuses on both the sport and the administrative aspects of running the IFL and has been on air with IFL commissioner Uriel Sturm and referees Ofri Becker and Todd Warnick. Jeremy Last, Sports Editor of the Jerusalem Post is a frequent guest contributor.
Athletes from outside of Israel who have been guests on the Rusty Mike American Sport Show include Duke University Basketball Captain Jon Scheyer,MMA fighter Rory Singer, former UCLA Bruin and current Hapoel Jerusalem Basketball star Dijon Thompson, Former Dallas Cowboy Alan Veingrad, Hockey Hall of Famer Darryl Sittler and Hockey Legend Paul Henderson.
Rusty Mike American Sports is the only civilian American sports talk radio show in English in the entire Middle East. It was featured in a story about Rusty Mike Radio in the November 13th edition of the Jerusalem Post newspaper.
