Rug Manager Pro (also known as RMPro) is a retail/wholesale point-of-sale and inventory software package built specifically for Oriental Rug Stores. RMPro has been under development by Innovations International Inc (Formerly Edonia) since 1992, . It provides integration with daily routines of such businesses. RMPro uses Microsoft SQL Server as a database engine, and was developed with Borland Delphi by 60+ programmers and 100+ contributors around the world. It also requires the use of an Aladdin HASP Key (Dango) for user licensing. RMPro is capable of connecting multiple locations to one database server. The database is designed to allow quick development. RMPro was designed to replace common tasks of most businesses involved in either retail or wholesale of high-ticket items. RMPro was originally specific to the rug market, but it became a system to manage a wider range of categories. It was designed by an end-user himself, giving direct implementation of business rule and logic without the extensive research, which allowed quick adaptation to multiple industries. The SKU (or Stock Keeping Unit) methodology is implemented in RMPro, which allows a distinction between actual items (which the business has physically received) and available items (which can be purchased from the Vendor). Every item is linked to a corresponding SKU common information for items. One item is required to be linked to a SKU, a SKU can belong to any number of items, and a SKU may or may not belong to any items. History Rug Manager was originally developed using Microsoft Visual Basic and used Microsoft Access as a database engine, and was developed on Windows 3.1. It was changed in the early stages to Borland Delphi Programming using Microsoft SQL Server, becoming Rug Manager Pro. RMPro inspired development of many other utilities which worked in coordination with RMPro. Such utilities include RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), E-Commerce (online stores) , SMTP/SMS notifications (Reporting specific events through email or text messaging), Intuit QuickBooks Integration (for accounting), and others.
