Renaissance- An Automation Integrated Idea Exchange Symposium

Renaissance, is the annual techno-cultural forum/symposium of Department of Mechatronics Engineering, AIT,Bangalore.
It offers a profusion of mind-boggling events ranging from hard-core programming contests, nerve-wracking puzzles and games to enriching workshops and presentations, which attracts a huge student crowd across the AIT campus.
Renaissance is an opportunity for students from all over the Acharya Institute of Technology to come together and compete at various events, a place where they can exchange ideas, collaborate and learn through lectures and workshops.
Etymology
The word Renaissance (, , from ri- "again" and nascere "be born") stands for 'rebirth' or 'revolution' that changed perspectives of many individuals, from a historical context.
In this context, Renaissance, stands for the rebirth and evolution of a new 'technology', which in other words stands for the role of Mechatronics in changing perspectives of many individuals towards technology.
Mechatronics revolutionized science and technology by the fusing the essence of Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science and System & Design Control Engineering.
Logo
The logo depicts a robotic hand disengaged to reach beyond its limit. The wings represent the freedom possessed in every field. The 'electron orbits' encapsulated in the entire logo, stands to imply an automated process.

Technical
* Robo Soccer
The Robots are provided to the participants in a team of three to play the game of soccer with other teams.
* Laser Warfare
The Participants are provided with laser guns, by which, they are required to hit the targets after solving the puzzle.
* Tech- Quiz
Quiz based completely on Technical matter. Tests the Technical knowledge of the participants. Team of two.
Cultural
* 3 Minutes to win !
Extremely challenging tasks for the participants which they need to solve in 3 minutes.
* Campuz Photography
Participants go round the campuz taking snaps and later editing them on Adobe Photoshop to create a collage.
* Skin Tattoo Making
Tattoo making redefined! Temporary tattoos by Participants ! Best one gets the award !
Special Event
* Lecturers' Robo Soccer
Robo soccer meant only for lectures and professors of the college.
The Symposium
The Symposium sees discussions on Automation, Robotics, Mechatronic Systems, Embedded Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
