Mindbend

MINDBEND is the Annual Technical Festival of Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute Of Technology (SVNIT), Surat. Mindbend is organised in the even semester ie., Jan- May. Mindbend is considered to be the best technical festival of Gujarat and second best in western zone, next only to IITB's Techfest. It has been more than a decade since its inception and Mindbend has been growing ever since to reach to its present position.

Organisation
MINDBEND is a completely student organised technical festival. The college appoints the faculty conveners who select the organizing committee, which is headed by third yearites. Team Mindbend looks into the complete organization of the event, right from deciding the events, attracting sponsors, publicizing it in various media, inviting other colleges to participate, arranging workshops, accommodating the participants, providing excellent infrastructure for the events and so on.

History
MINDBEND was organized for the first time in 1995. Though it started with a humble beginning, it was transformed into a national level festival in 2001. Over the past few years, the event grew manifold and since 2004 it became Gujarat's biggest Technical Festival. Today it can be declared as one of India's most famous technical festivals with a participation of more than 1500 students from all over India every year. With a catch-line,"Flex Those Neurons",the competitions organized encourage logical reasoning, and churning of thought provoking ideas that can revolutionise the present day technologies.

This technical fiesta provides opportunity for students with various interests. The events are made in such a way to invite every individual of the engineering community. Events range from predefined problem to online and on the spot events. Robotics event of Mindbend has been the crowd puller in the past few years. Apart from the events guest lectures on different fields of engineering are arranged during the festival. Workshops and Exhibitions are also conducted. Mindbend every year has been reaching new horizons and making history.
