It aims, as well, at strengthening the unique level of awareness of Islamic concepts in different aspects of life and contributing in forming the citizen who is able to undertake the responsibility towards himself, his religion and his society, by means of supporting and developing interactive and constructive contact with different societal sections and groups, consequently it leads to positive change and interaction with the locally, regionally and internationally raised issues.
Motto
Religious Enlightenment Department adopted the motto of "Meaningful Media is our Aim", due to its deep belief in the role being played by the meaningful valuable media in promoting and advancing the society with all its sections and groups.
Mission
Religious Enlightenment Department mission is crystallized in presenting meaningful, valuable and developmental media that contributes in deepening values and conceptions stemming from society needs and fundamentals, through utilizing media, advertising and communication technologies according to applied and scientific methodology, which attracts society groups and guarantees an impact that achieves the desired positive changes. The Department makes use of the available resources in order to present the effective and meaningful media that contributes in the development process and maintains the society Islamic identity, in addition to seeking intellectual and cultural intercommunication with different home and abroad societal sections and groups.

Religious Enlightenment Department was founded in pursuant to the Administrative Resolution No. 778 for 1996 AD that concluded organizing the Religious Enlightenment Department and the Administrative Resolution No. 619 for 2000 AD that concluded reorganization of the Department. Religious Enlightenment Department focused its main attention on its assigned roles in a world in which globalization predominated those who did not adhere to their identity, therefore, the Department had to utilize all its resources in order to seek achieving this objective through the media framework. Religious Enlightenment Department is comprised of:
Media Production and Coordination Control
It is entrusted to organization and empowerment of the relationship among intellectual and technical staff from one hand, and the Department from the other hand and supervising televised projects and its production. Additionally, the Control undertakes processes of coordination between the Department work Units and other Media authorities and bodies, and finally supporting and developing informative interactive communication between the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and various societal groups. Media Production and Coordination Control is comprised of the following two divisions:
Media Production Division
It is specialized in editing and formulating media messages as well as preparing scripts and texts of dramatic television and radio productions and technical supervision on executing these programs and performing technical revision of television and radio texts being submitted to the Religious Enlightenment Department and assessing its suitability and production appropriateness.
Media Coordination Division
It is a connecting link between the Department various work units and media bodies and authorities in order to perform the due coordination and strengthening cooperation with media people and specialized media and journalistic staff in order to make use of their abilities, and finally preparing materials in various religious meaningful media fields.
