REB Technologies

REB Technologies (also referred to as REBTECH) is a manufacturer and distributor of night vision lighting equipment and technology for national and international civilian and military aircraft. They provide research and development, installation, and support for night vision lighting equipment installed on aircraft such as the Bell Helicopter, Eurocopter, MD Helicopter, Robinson and Sikorsky. They currently hold seventeen approved Supplemental Type Certificates from the Federal Aviation Administration to be allowed to make modifications on aircraft such as the Rockwell B-1 Lancer, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, Cessna A-37 Dragonfly, F-16, Lockheed C-5 Galaxy (cockpit & cargo), Bell UH-1 Iroquois, Mil Mi-8, Bell AH-1 Cobra, and the Bell OH-58 Kiowa. They have performed work for more than eight foreign governments in addition to the United States federal government and numerous state governments and are considered one of the leading providers of night vision devices.
History
REBTECH was founded in 1996 by current CEO Dick Borkowski. Borkowski founded the company in order to produce night vision lighting equipment that did not use green filters. In 2012, REB Technologies announced a strategic partnership with Aerospace Vendor Solutions, Inc. to mutually develop and market night vision technology for both civil and military applications.
Products and services
In addition to installation, support, and repair of any equipment designed or installed by REBTECH, they also offer training and other products approved by the FAA. REBTECH develops and supplies shadow screens which reduce infrared light emitted by instruments without altering the color quality. Shadow filters allow colors to remain consistent on instrumentation and moving maps so that red and amber caution lights can be seen in their true colors in both daylight conditions and while wearing goggles. REBTECH provides training programs for pilots to train them on the use of night flying conditions while using their equipment.
REBTECH installs custom emergency lighting systems for planes and helicopters such as Casa C-212 military cargo planes. They also modify navigation and communication control heads with shadow screens to allow the use of night vision while complying the FAA requirements for instrument lighting. REBTECH also installs external NVG lighting which has recently become an FAA and Transport Canada requirement for aircraft.
* In 2009, REBTECH was chosen to convert thirty two medical evacuation helicopters for a national medical evacuation company. This was after they completed an additional seventeen installations for the company previously. These helicopters were to be used for search and rescue as well as medical transports throughout the United States.
* In April 2012, REBTECH completed the modification of two R44 helicopters for the Estonian Air Force with NVIS systems. Estonia currently has four helicopters in their Air Force that are primarily used for surveillance as well as search and rescue.

Awards and recognitions
In 2011, CEO Dick Borkowski was awarded with the first annual Night Vision Achievement Award by the producers of NightCon 2011.
