Actix is an independent mobile telecoms software provider. Actix gives mobile operators granular insight into their network performance together with their subscribers’ behaviours and geo-located network experience, enabling them to take a customer centric approach to optimizing their network performance and enriching their customer’s experience. Actix is the world leader in its field with more than 400 customers, including 25 of the top 30 mobile network operators worldwide.
Beginnings
The company was founded in 1991 by Robert Dobson and Dr Yui Fai Ko. In 2005 a majority stake in the firm was acquired by Summit Partners, a venture capital firm. The company now has over 250 members of staff and offices in the U.K., Germany, U.S.A, Malaysia, China, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Brazil and Dubai.
Pioneering works
Actix are technological pioneers:
:* In 1997, Actix developed the world's first multi-vendor desktop solution, Analyzer, for mobile network layer 3 analytics, which is the current de facto global standard.
:* In 2007, Actix delivered another world first, a mobile network analytics and optimization platform supporting hundreds of users, called ActixOne. This optimization platform encompasses multiple solutions to assure network rollout quality, improve customer experience in the radio access network (RAN) and optimize multi-vendor networks.
:* In 2009 Actix was the first company to announce a full scale solution for Self-Optimizing Networks (SON), announcing a commercial network node designed to support centralized or hybrid SON for the 3.9G LTE standard, well ahead of major manufacturers.
