In 1998, McKinsey & Company established Venture Cup in Sweden, and in 2000 as an Øresund-based competition with Denmark and Southern Sweden. Today, Venture Cup is present in three Nordic countries, and a total of more than 2000 submitted plans each year makes it the most important initiative creating high-growth start-up companies in Scandinavia.
