Raywat Deonandan

Raywat Deonandan (born 1967) is a Canadian author, blogger for the Huffington Post, and epidemiologist. He received his doctor of philosophy degree in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of Western Ontario in 2001. Born in Guyana, Deonandan immigrated to Canada at a young age. He is an assistant professor specializing in global health studies at the University of Ottawa in the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences
His two books of short stories, Sweet Like Saltwater and Divine Elemental, were published in Toronto by TSAR Publications in 1999 and 2003 respectively. He was awarded the 2000 Guyana Prize for Literature.
