Kirsty Neary (born 14 November 1986 in Glasgow, Scotland) is a contemporary Scottish writer best known for her novel Abstract/Concrete. She is also a photographer, writes freelance journalism, and performs her various works at events across Scotland. Career Kirsty grew up in and around Glasgow graduated with a First Class degree in English Literature and whilst pursuing her studies at the University of Glasgow started writing short stories. The Stately Pantheon was her first novel and explores the murkier side of Glasgow. The book was criticised in part for the author not having enough firsthand experience of Glasgow's underworld of sex and drugs. In 2011 her second book Abstract/Concrete was published, set in Glasgow 2024. She regularly performs spoken word throughout Glasgow.
