Rawan Nada

Ravana nada is the first studio album by Sri Lankan artist Dinesh Subasinghe. It was released on March 25, 2009 by Tharanga records and was the first album in which he played some of the music on the ravanahatha, an ancient instrument.
Genre
The album consists of music featuring elements of Oriental music, pop music, and traditional Sri Lankan and Indian music. The melody solos pieces were played on a variety of instruments: the ravanahatha, Kingri ravanstron, kottan kachi, violin, flute, box guitar, and saxophone.
Production and recording
Ravana Nada was one and half years in production from August 2007 to December 2008. The album was produced by Vijaya Ramanayaka, who has produced several films including Yuganthaya, Aradhana,Maldeniye and Simion, and more than 500 audio recordings.
The recording sessions for Ravana Nada took place at the Dee R Cee studio in Negombo and Penguin Studio in Colombo. In the recording, Subasinghe used his pop band orchestra and Sri Lankan local musicians, including a 25 member choir, the Sri Lankan musician Ivo Denis, Dee R Cee Members, his father Anton Subasinghe, and singers from Negombo church choirs.
