Emerald Monkey

Emerald Monkey is a rock/metal band formed in 1994 by singer/songwriter/guitarist Jimmy D. The group released their debut album in 2004 titled Loud which received positive reviews. They are currently finishing the second album. They are set to appear on the upcoming Guns N' Roses tribute album and will play their hit Welcome to the Jungle and Move to the City.
Featuring singer\songwriter Jimmy D. In 1994 Emerald Monkey was a vision. While fronting local acts LOUD, and RED CHINA BLUE, and things never working out in the music scene, the vision took a back seat. Then in 1997 the vision was taken to task by writing and producing the first self-titled demo in 1997. From 1997 thru 2003, Emerald Monkey did one off shows all around CT. Jimmy wrote music for local acts around the CT area as well. Also during this time, Dee Snider Radio added Emerald Monkey to its “Dee Day: Best Of DSR” CD. Jimmy was involved in a skit on the disc, and it featured one of Emerald Monkeys tracks.
Emerald Monkey appeared on Lunar Moth’s “Complete Balanced Breakfast”, a tribute to Saturday morning cartoon themes with a version of “Scooby Doo, Where Are You?”.
Then in 2005, Jimmy took time off from Emerald Monkey to co-write over 17 songs with Daniel Macmaster formerly of the rock band BONHAM, for Daniel's first solo comeback. Daniel died 2008.
Currently in the studio recording a follow up release to “LOUD”. This disc will have many guest musicians… including members of Jimmy’s former band Red China Blue, Ethan Collins formerly of White Trash, and Bill Bruce formerly of Shotgun Messiah. This disc also will feature songs that where co-written with Daniel Macmaster as well. This past November 2005 Emerald Monkey made its first “pro-shot” music video for the single “No One To Blame”. This video was shot in high-def wide screen, and can be seen on the Official EM Myspace page, and the EM You Tube website.
