Randall K. Bennett

Randall Kay Bennett (born 6 June 1955) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2011. He is a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy.
Bennett was born in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to Donald Kay Bennett and Anne Darlene Long. He received a bachelor of science degree and DDS degree from the University of Alberta, and a master of science degree in orthodontics from Loma Linda University. He spent his professional life as an orthodontist.
Bennett served as a full-time LDS Church missionary in the France Paris and France Toulouse missions. Following his missionary service, he married Shelley Dianne Watchman in 1977, in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They are the parents of four children.
Bennett has served in the LDS Church in a variety of positions including ward Young Men president, counselor in a bishopric, high councilor, president and counselor in a Provo Missionary Training Center and as president of the Russia Samara Mission from 2007 to 2010.
On 2 April 2011, Bennett was sustained by church members as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy. Since August 2011, Bennett has been first counselor in the presidency of the church's Europe East Area. He will continue that assignment through 2014.
