Jairo Mazzagardi (born 10 April 1947) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2010. He is a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy. Mazzagardi was born in Itu, Brazil to Antonio Massagardi and Margarida Prestes. (Mazzagardi took the spelling of his family name from his grandfather.) He left school early to help support his family. He served as an artillery sergeant in the Brazilian army in 1965 and 1966. Mazzagardi married Married Elizabeth Lenne in 1970; they are the parents of three children. They were taught by LDS Church missionaries and were baptized in 1978. They were sealed in the São Paulo Brazil Temple in 1979. By profession, Mazzagardi was an entrepreneur who spent more than 40 years in the meat industry and later owned a real estate company. Mazzagardi has served as a counselor, stake high councilor, counselor in a stake presidency, stake president, regional representative, president of the Brazil Salvador Mission (1990-93), temple sealer, counselor in the presidency of the Campinas Brazil Temple, president of the São Paulo Brazil Temple (2006-09), and area seventy. On April 3, 2010, he was sustained as a general authority and member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy. Since August 2010, Mazzagardi has been a counselor in the presidency of the LDS Church's Brazil Area.
