Ramona Shelburne is a sports news columnist in Los Angeles, an ESPN Senior Writer, and a former college softball player at Stanford University. Shelburne was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills, California, where she was a class valedictorian. She then went to Stanford University from 1997 to 2001 where she received a BA in American Studies and an MA in Communication. She was a three-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Academic All-American softball player. She was a sports columnist for the Los Angeles Daily News until the end of 2009, when she joined ESPN Los Angeles. She spent seven years at the Daily News. Shelburne's mother is Jewish, and her father celebrates Christmas.
