James Edward Miller

James Edward Miller III also known as Jimmy Miller is a National Collegiate Athletic Association American Football Tight End for the University of Southern California Trojans Football Team in Los Angeles. Miller will be graduating and is a senior on the 2008 USC Trojans football team.
High School
Miller attended Westlake High School in Westlake Village, where he teamed with Rudy Carpenter record holding Arizona State University Sun Devils Quarterback and fellow USC Trojans Offensive Tackle/Center Steve Gatena to go 14-0 winning the 2003 California Interscholastic Federation Division II State Football Title.
At Westlake, Jimmy was a letterman in both football and basketball. In football, he was awarded Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass first team, All-CIF Division IV, Daily News All-Area first team, All-Ventura County and All-League selection as a junior. As a senior Jimmy earned Super Prep All-American, Prep Star All-American, Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West honorable mention, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Orange County Register Fab 15 second team, All-CIF Southern Section first team, All-CIF Division IV Defensive MVP, Los Angeles Times All-Star, Los Angeles Times All-Ventura/North Coast Lineman of the Year and Daily News All-Valley first team. Miller graduated from Westlake High School in 2004. Brother Jeff Miller players for rival UCLA.
College
Although Miller's college career was hampered by back injuries, Jimmy appeared in over two dozen college football games and is the only tight end on the 2008 USC Trojans football team to have caught a touchdown pass thrown by Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart.
2008: Miller served as a backup tight end as a senior in 2008 but missed several games including the 2009 Rose Bowl Game due to back injuries and foot surgery.
2007: Miller played briefly in the Idaho opener as a backup tight end and on special teams as a junior in 2007. Prior to the Nebraska game miller injured his back and was sidelined for the rest of 2007. He did not catch a pass in 2007.
2006: Miller, who was a backup tight end as a sophomore in 2006, appeared in 11 contests in 2006 (all but Arkansas and Oregon State). He missed the Arkansas opener after spraining his shoulder in fall camp.
2005: Miller was a backup at tight end and played on special teams as a redshirt freshman in 2005. Overall in 2005 while appearing in all 13 games, he had 3 catches for 8 yards (2.7 avg.) with 2 TDs and made 1 tackle. He caught a 4-yard TD pass against Arkansas and had 2 receptions for 4 yards (with a 1-yard TD) versus Stanford.
2004: Miller redshirted as a freshman tight end in 2004, his first year at USC.
