Timothy Gene Ware Timothy Gene Ware (born 1969) is a technologist and author. Timothy married Carolyn Marie Taylor April 9, 2008 and currently resides in Saint Louis Missouri. Early Life Timothy Gene Ware was born in Sullivan Missouri to Michael David Ware and Sally May Ware. He was raised in a loving family consisting of one younger sister, Rachel. His father was a skilled carpenter and his mother was a dedicated homemaker. Timothy grew up with a love for electronics, music and art. From an early age he was always interested in how things work destroying several mechanical items in his journey of discovery. Academic and Professional Life Timothy was educated at East Central College East Central College, Maryville University Maryville University and Webster University Webster University where he studied electronics and later pursued a business major. Timothy has worked as an engineer and project manager in the corporate environment for the past 20 years building a diverse resume spanning authoring to network design. His pursuit of success in the corporate arena led him out of the small town toward opportunity in the city of Saint Louis. Soon after he graduated from East Central College he accepted a position as technician at a computer retail store learning the basics of computer repair and in the process fostering a love for building custom computer systems. His first invention was a retrofit of an Amiga 1000 system board into a personal computer case which required hundreds of connections to make the system operational. It was here that Ware was inspired to start his own operation; however, he first needed quality experience with the Microsoft operating system. This quest led him to a new position at an authorized Microsoft reseller that specialized in service and repair. It was at this time in his career that he gained a strong foundation of knowledge that would truly solidify his formal education. In 1993, armed with the knowledge necessary to branch out on his own Ware started a sole proprietorship entitled “Electronic Advantage”. It was during this time that he gained the business knowledge to compliment his technical training and experience. Eventually the business failed and he was forced to return to the workforce accepting what would become a short lived position at another computer repair facility. It was here that he made a contact that would lead him to his next position as a computer technician at an independent service center for Circuit City. Through relationships born here in 1997, Ware obtained employment with MasterCard and continued his invasion into the corporate environment. The move to MasterCard in 1997 was a turning point because it symbolized a clear change in direction to the corporate environment. The transition from technician to engineer would bring new challenges and was a revelation of corporate information technology. He came to be recognized as a leader and excelled at his position being placed in charge of supporting senior management and mentoring his peers. In addition to network services, he branched out to become a trainer within the company instructing a class once a month to train employees and new hires. It was at this time that he obtained internationally recognized certifications with Cisco Systems and Microsoft Corporation which would position him to take advantage of the .com phenomenon. The date was 1999 and the internet bubble was in full swing creating new startup opportunities that placed skilled technologists in high demand. This led Ware to reluctantly leave MasterCard in pursuit of an Internet startup that doubled his salary and promised a quick IPO with thousands of dollars in stock options. He accepted the position of eBusiness Project Manager. It would seem that early retirement was a surety but as history now records the bubble burst and the Internet startup met their doom. Once again Ware was on the market looking for employment. In the year 2000 Ware took a senior position with TEKsystems, a contracting company that offered full time employment. His first assignment was at Wave Technologies, a computer training company that specialized in self-study material in addition to in-class training. In consideration of his technical background he was put into a position of management overseeing the quality assurance department. It was his job to communicate with external and internal product development groups to ensure product accuracy and quality. In addition, he also co-authored a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) study guide, material for 3Com’s Master of Network Science (MNS) Certification and curriculum for the Microsoft Windows 2000 boot camp. During his employment at Wave he obtained certification with Cisco Systems as a Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA), with Microsoft as a Microsoft Certified Professional Plus Internet (MCP+I) and Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT). With his assignment at Wave Technologies complete, Ware accepted an assignment with MasterCard working with the AT&T Managed Services Team. His next move would bring him full circle in the corporate arena by accepting full time employment with MasterCard working as a Senior Network Design Engineer.
