Kyle Veazey

Kyle Veazey (born August 3 1982) is a current sports writer for The Clarion Ledger. Since October 2006, he has served as the beat writer for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.


Early Career
Born in Paris, Tennessee, where he graduated from Henry County High School in 2000. After high school Kyle spent a year at nearby Murray State University before transferring to the University of Mississippi for the completion of his journalism degree. During his time at the University of Mississippi, he worked at The Daily Mississippian as a sports writer. In 2001, Veazey won first place in the Sports Writing division of the Region 12 Mark of Excellence awards sponsored by Society of Professional Journalists

After eight months as an intern and freelancer for The Birmingham News, He spent a year and a half covering the University of Alabama for The Decatur Daily.In 2006, while at the Decatur Daily, Veazey received the Top Game Story award for a newspaper under 40,000 for the article "Tiffin true as Tide survives mistakes"
