Generation Einstein

Generation Einstein is the title of a book, which makes a plea for the introduction of a new name for the generation born after 1991 that grew up in the digital information society. In contradiction with the generation before them, Generation X, Generation Einstein does not have a individualistic, but a collectivistic mindset. The growing-up in a information society of this generation born after 1991, has caused a way of information handling which shows more similarities with the creative and multidisciplinary thinking of Albert Einstein than with the rational, logical and linear thinking of Isaac Newton.

The term has first been used by Jeroen Boschma & Inez Groen in their book “Generation Einstein, smart, social and superfast” which appeared in 2006 in the Netherlands. The book and the term are making ground in other countries as well. The book appeared in June 2006 on the Spanish market and in 2008 an extended version was published that explains the perception of branding of Generation Einstein.
