Punch capacitor

A punch capacitor is a large capacitor installed in car audio systems. It is typically one Farad or more in capacitance, and as big as a spray paint can. It is used as a decoupling capacitor: They draw energy from the car battery when the sound system doesn't, store that energy, and deliver that energy to the sound system when the battery can't supply enough power.
