Propworx was an auction company that auctioned off assets from Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and other shows and movies, including items from Kevin Smith.<ref name="variety"/> Propworx CEO Alex Peters announced that the auction house would close its doors. What was not mentioned was that the company had filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on 16 August 2012, owing money to various businesses, including Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios, Inc. (owners of the Stargate franchise — Propworx also executed auctions for them in 2010).<ref name="bankrupt"/><ref name="therpf"/> No mention of these facts appear on Propworx's official website.<ref name="propworx"/> |
