David Spearing

David Ellis Spearing (Born on 11th June 1986) in Portsmouth, is a London based self-shooting director working in the music and film industry. Spearing is mostly known for his work with pop/rock band McFly for their SuperCity website.
Schooling and University
Spearing attended Horndean Community School, leaving in 2002 and attending South Downs College from 2002 until 2005. After leaving South Downs, Spearing attended Ravensbourne College in London from 2006 to 2008, where he studied Content Creation and Broadcasting.
Early Career
Whilst at South Downs college, Spearing met Drama and Production student Ben Adams, and shortly after the pair formed Broken Toaster TV , a comedy based production company.
Shortly after leaving university (June - August 2009), Spearing directed a film called Finding Esther , based on the real life disappearance of a young village girl aged 16, who was never found. The film made the national news.
Work with McFly
In 2010 Spearing started to work with McFly on short films and documentaries for their official website McFly.com, as well as filming and editing concerts and shows for DVD and being a credited director on 3 out of 6 episodes of documentary McFly on the Wall. During the 18 months Spearing has been working with McFly, he has filmed over 400 videos which collectively have over 15 million views online. Spearing has also filmed, directed and edited exclusive online concerts and on location live streams and webchats. Spearing is known to follow McFly to various kinds of functions, including interviews, filming the bands Meet and Greets in August 2011 and at concerts and shows.

While working with Wretch 32, Spearing worked on a Behind The Scenes video for 'Forgiveness' (Featuring Etta Bond) and the official tour diary for Wretch's 'Black and White' tour.Both of these are available on youtube. Spearing filmed and edited an 'On The Road' video for The Jezabels on a UK tour, which is also available on youtube.

Spearing also works with long time friend, and aspiring comedian Ben Adams at comedy production company Broken Toaster TV.
