Killer Kabbage

Killer Kabbage is a short movie that was filmed in 2011. The film follows a group of survivors trying to escape a small town that has been taken over by monstrous cabbage creatures. It's budget was just below $3,000.
Production
Writing began in March 2011 and production starting in May 2011. Filming ended August 2011. The budget for the movie came directly from the director's pocket in making his first film. Special Effects artist Scott Kodrik was commissioned to create the cabbage monsters, two were created with one being a "stunt cabbage." The music choice was inspired by early 80's cinema and was composed by Chris Saunders.
Filming Style
The director, being a fan of the double-feature film "Grindhouse" released in 2009, wanted to pay homage to the "creature feature" 80's cinema. Filmed on a "micro-budget" it was shot with a Canon XL-1s and edited on the same day. The film has scratches and jitters to keep the specific style. The crew filmed normally after three in the morning to make the city look "desolate" to keep in with the theme of the movie.
Release
The film will be released in Fall 2011 directly online via Amazon.com or the film's official website.
