He is also Chief Editor of APFCB News Asia Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry. Sharma is an alumnus of Sawai ManSingh Medical College. SMS Hospital attached to Sawai ManSingh Medical College is the principal health care institution in the State of Rajasthan. Sharma established a fully automated and computerized central laboratory in SMS Hospital for patient care. The Laboratory was adjudged as one of the best in North India. He has received numerous awards, including Merit award from the Governor of Rajasthan on Republic Day. Apart from Sawai ManSingh Medical College, Jaipur, Sharma has been briefly associated with S. N. Medical College, Jodhpur. Sharma has several publications to his credit and has widely travelled across the Globe to participate in seminars/conferences on Clinical Biochemistry. He is a fellow of Association of Clinical Biochemist of India. He has delivered keynote addresses in G. S. Seth Memorial Lecture. Sharma has recently become Chairman of Communication Committee of Asian Pacific Federation of Clinical Biochemistry (APFCB).
