History
PlanetRisk was formed 2014, founded by Mark Dumas, Brian Sweeney, Neal Choudhuri and Jerry Cogle, in 2014.
In 2015, PlanetRisk merged with iMapData, a Virginia based software company and moved its offices from Bethesda, Maryland to McLean, Virginia. This merger blended iMapData’s threat monitoring software into PlanetRisk’s problem-solving big data capabilities.
In 2016, PlanetRisk acquired Analytic Strategies, a Virginia analytics company that provided services to the federal Government agencies; Secretary of Defense, the Defense Health Agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and branches of the U.S. Armed Forces among others. Randy Wimmer, founder of Analytic Strategies is the board director and strategic adviser at PlanetRisk and former Chief Operating Officer of Analytic Strategies is the Chief Operating Officer at PlanetRisk. The company now is a subsidiary of PlanetRisk. The acquisition will broaden their analytics platforms.
Partnerships
PlanetRisk partnered with Schneider Weather in 2016. The partnership offers facilities and communities with improved weather service information. The partnership will give customers the ability to view and monitor, on a single screen, weather directly impacting communities.
In April 2017, PlanetRisk partnered with SurfWatch Labs, a cyber threat solutions company adding Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) capabilities into its Cyber Risk (CRX) capabilities.
In April 2017, PlanetRisk and Magnatech Travel, a Canadian travel management company announced a partnership. The partnership enables travelers by merging Magnatech’s itinerary information with PlanetRisk’s risk analysis software.
