Phil Laeger

Phil Laeger ( ) (born November 28, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter and worship leader, known for his influence in the area of worship music within The Salvation Army. Laeger wrote the winning song for the 2006 National Day of Prayer Theme Song competition, which was recorded and released by CCM artist Rebecca St. James. In July 2022, he was recognized as "one to watch" by Nashville Songwriters Association International.
Biography
Phillip Andrew Laeger was born November 28, 1977, in Charlotte, North Carolina. His father, David Laeger (b. 1940) and his mother Anna (née Strickland; b. 1944) were ordained ministers. He is the 3rd of 4 children. Laeger attended Toccoa Falls College for biblical studies, but graduated from Berklee College of Music with a major in songwriting.
Laeger co-founded the worship band transMission in 2004, and the artist collective Outside Worship in 2016. Laeger's songs are included in worship by churches around the world and in congregational hymnals for The Salvation Army and other Wesleyan denominations
Phil lives just outside of Nashville with his wife Sarah and their three kids Samuel, Aiden, and Hope. He leads worship at his home church in Lebanon, Tennessee.
