Peter Chura is a Canadian journalist who has reported on politics on both the national and international scene. He is a television news anchor in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and was the anchor of Global Winnipeg's Evening News until September 1, 2015. Chura's broadcating career began in Winnipeg. In the late 1990s he covered international conflicts in Kosovo and Bosnia. He then worked as a Parliament Hill bureau reporter in Ottawa for seven years. In 2007 he joined Global News, Winnipeg. He was news anchor and supervising producer for their daily news programme that aired at 6pm. He left the network in early September 2015. He has a bachelor's degree in Journalism and History from Carleton University in Ottawa, and he has worked for CBC Television's The National in Toronto, CITO in Timmins, CKND in Winnipeg, CITV in Edmonton, and CHUM Television in Ottawa. He has been selected as a candidate in Seine River for the Manitoba Liberal Party at the 41st Manitoba general election scheduled for April 19, 2016.
