Ryan Keon

Ryan Keon (born April 12, 1969) is the Liberal Party of Canada candidate for the federal riding of Nepean—Carleton, running in the 2011 Canadian federal election.
Background
Keon was born and raised in Ottawa and has deep roots in the area, as well as on the Quebec side of the Ottawa Valley. He has practiced law in the region since the mid-1990s. In 1999, Keon and his wife Cindy married and have lived in Nepean-Carleton, where Cindy grew up. They have two children. In September 2009, Ryan was nominated as the Liberal Party of Canada candidate for the federal riding of Nepean-Carleton.
Keon is the son of long standing and now retired Canadian Senator and heart surgeon Dr. Wilbert Keon.
Education and legal career
Keon attended and graduated from St Pius X Catholic High School in 1988. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991 from Trinity College at the University of Toronto, Keon went on to graduate from Howard University School of Law in Washington D.C., graduating fifth in his class.
In 1996, Keon joined the law offices of Gowling Strathy Henderson, LLP, working there first as an articling student and then as an associate in the business law and real estate practice group until May 2000. Keon then joined the law firm of LaBarge Weinstein LLP, serving Ottawa’s real estate and high tech business communities.
Keon earned a Masters of Laws degree (LL.M.) from the Faculty of Law at McGill University in 2002. In 2004, Keon began his own practice as part of a partnership under the name Wilson Keon LLP. Then in 2007, Keon left to practice on his own; his firm`s name is Keon Law Professional Corporation.
Political career
On September 9, 2009, Keon was nominated as the Liberal Party of Canada candidate for the federal riding of Nepean-Carleton, at a meeting of the Nepean-Carleton Federal Liberal Association. Keon has worked since that time to get to know as many of the constituents of Nepean-Carleton as possible, and to listen to their concerns and issues.
Keon is running in the Canadian 2011 general election to be held May 2.
