Anita Vandenbeld BA, MA (born December 3, 1971) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. She is currently the nominated federal Liberal candidate in the riding of Ottawa West-Nepean. Anita has served as a senior adviser for organizations including: the United Nations Development Programme, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Canadian Parliamentary Centre. In 2008 she was awarded the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal for her work in Kosovo. Prior to her overseas employment, Anita worked in the Canadian Parliament for 6 years. She has maintained her home in Ottawa for over a decade. On January 12, 2011, Liberal Party Leader Michael Ignatieff visited Ottawa West-Nepean and held a rally with Vandenbeld at the Carlingwood Family Restaurant .
