Oliver Wade

Oliver Wade (born Oliver Samuel Wade 1999 in Le Havre) is a British singer-songrwriter. His work is influenced by Cherry Ghost, Ben Howard, Bob Dylan, Keaton Henson and James Taylor among others.
Early life
Wade grew up in Guernsey, a small island off the coast of France and started playing guitar aged 10. Since Oliver Wade has been tutored by John Byrne, former lead guitarist of The La's, particularly known for the hit single There She Goes along with success in The Cherry Boys in which Byrnes composition 'Kardamah Cafe' reached the top 10 in the Spanish charts. One of Wade's early demo's 'Winter Months' was chosen for airplay on Guernsey's "BBC Introducing" radio show on the 30th November 2011. Despite this, the single failed to even achieve minor success charting at only number 217.
Career
2011
In early 2011 Oliver Wade signed to German label '3B Recordings' but just 7 weeks later the label dropped out of the deal.
2012-present: Signing
In September 2012 Wade was approached with an offer of a worldwide distribution deal by French record label 232 Records, owned by multi national company Lancer Médias after they found YouTube videos of gigs on P&O Azura and in St Peter Port, Guernsey. Wade had previously sold 232 to Lancer in 2011 as it was his first, failed label attempt. On the 12th October 2012 Wade signed to Lancer Médias after agreeing to a worldwide deal apart from in the UK and Channel Islands, where Oliver's self owned label 'Fiasco.' will distribute his single.
Wade's debut single is set for release on the 24th of February 2013, with the video to be set in Le Havre. In a recent interview Wade stated that he hoped his recent signing would allow more people to hear 'simple, acoustic music' rather than 'today's commercialised pop'.
Other Acts
In June 2011 Oliver Wade joined Guernsey rock band 'Covered' but the band was short lived breaking up just 5 months later. Since June 2012 Wade has been in British heavy rock/metal band 'Sarum'. He states that it's 'nice to have a change from the same old acoustic every so often'.
