NWA Pro Australia (NWA Pro) is a professional wrestling organization for a number of independent Australian wrestling promotions professional wrestling promotions and sanctions various NWA Pro championships in Australia. NWA Pro has been in operation since 2001. For many years throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, there was weekly Australian wrestling on T.V. This ceased during the 1970s. In 2001, A number of Australian promotions were starting to pop up again, this caused the NWA to form NWA Pro Australia. 2000s EPW Perth was the first promotion under the NWA Pro name, sanctioning championships such as, the EPW Championship, and the EPW Tag Team Championship. in 2006, EPW extended to Adelaide, to form EPW Adelaide. this proved successful, and the company was renamed to NWA Pro Adelaide, which has now become the main wrestling company in Australia. They are linked with ZERO1 in Japan, and many companies throughout the United States. Throughout 2007, the main events at many of their shows featured, "Jag" Hartley Jackson, Bruce "Havok" Mills, Jayson Cooper, Damian Slater, in 8-man tag team matches, J-Rock, Greg Graham, Robby Heart, The Golden Aztec, Mark Aiston, "Dirty" Dick Donovan, "Wreckin" Balls Wilson, Benny English. To keep with the tradition of the masked wrestler in the company, NWA Pro introduced, The Golden Aztec, The Silver Aztec, and Masked Commandos #1 through to #5. In 2008, The NWA Australian Heavyweight Championship became property of NWA Pro Adelaide, after "Jag" Hartley Jackson defeated Mikey Nicholls in Perth to win the championship. Jayson Cooper then won the championship, and held it for over a year. Robby Heart then became champion, before losing it to "Jag" Hartley Jackson. 2010s In February 2011, ZERO1 re-instated the NWA United National Heavyweight Championship and produced a tournamnet which finished at Meltdown 2011. "Jag" Hartley Jackson, already the NWA Australian National Champion, won the tournament, and became a triple champion, the first in Australia.
