The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Australian Heavyweight Championship is a heavyweight championship in NWA Pro Australia. It is the heavyweight championship of NWA Pro company and the main in NWA Pro Australia. It was established in 2007. After NWA Head Officials partnered with many Australian independent companies. The championship is generally contested in professional wrestling matches, in which participants execute scripted finishes rather than contend in direct competition. History Origin The NWA Australian National Championship was introduced in 2007 in a tournament in Perth, Western Australia. NWA's other Australian affiliate, EPW, already had the EPW Championship, and was excluded from the tournament. After a night of hard wrestling, Mikey Nicholls, won the tournamnet to become the first champion. He would defend the title in Perth and Adelaide, between EPW Perth and EPW Adelaide. "Jag" Hartley Jackson won the title and at an EPW Perth event in 2008, bringing the title to EPW Adelaide. When EPW Adelaide was renamed NWA Pro Australia, the championship stayed with NWA Pro as an exclusive title. Since then it has changed hands between "Jag" Hartley Jackson, Jayson Cooper, and Robby Heart. 'Jag' Hartley Jackson is the current holder of both the NWA Australian National CHampionship, and the newly re-instated NWA United National Heavyweight Championship.
