Australasian Wrestling Federation

Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) is a Sydney based Independent Professional wrestling promotion in Australia.
The Australasian Wrestling Federation (AWF) was formed in 1999 and is one of the longest running wrestling promotion's in Australia.
AWF live events are frequently promoted out of Club, Sporting and Community venues, as well as part of outdoor concerts, festivals and presentations. To date AWF has promoted hundreds of live events across Australia in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, and also in New Zealand.
The organisation focuses on AWF's homegrown Australian based talent, as well as incorporating the top international independent wrestlers on its live events.
AWF Championships Titles are the Australasian Championship, which is an open division title, The Commonwealth Championship, also an open division title, Tag Team Championships, open division title for teams of two, and the Young Lion's Championship, which is for competitors 25 years old and under.
The promotion features Australian wrestling stars such as TNT, "Iron" Jay Coles, Tama Williams, Blakestone, Mark Hilton, "The Maniac" Wayne Mattei, Powerhouse Theo, Il Cognito, Max Comic, Jay Law, Spaceboy, "Scientific" Rob Barnes and "Mint Condition" Mick Moretti.
Wrestling Stables within AWF include Detonation Crew and Elite Wrestling which contribute significantly to the culture of the AWF.
International stars that have featured on AWF events through the years include American wrestlers Super Dragon, Sabu, 2 Cold Scorpio, Marty Jannetty, X-Pac, Billy Kidman, Steve Corino, Raven, Bryan Danielson, Al Snow, Sonjay Dutt and more plus Japanese wrestlers such as Cima, Gamma and Masato Tanaka.
In August 2010, AWF's TV show "This is AWF Wrestling" premiered on the Aurora Community Channel on Foxtel Australian Pay Television and aired over Autumn and Summer of 2010.
School of Professional Wrestling
The AWF School of Pro-Wrestling is a leading pro-wrestling training school based in Sydney, Australia. Operational since 1999, the school has produced approximately 100 trained professional wrestlers who tour in Australia and Internationally. The head teacher of the AWF School is "TNT", who is also the founder of the promotion and oversees the training schedule and organises the class structure.
The Founder
Greg Bownds currently wrestles professionally as TNT, and has also wrestled as Aussie Ozbone internationally. He has 15 years of ring experience and has travelled to the USA, Japan and Mexico.
Greg is a multi time Australasian Champion, due to him being head booker of his own promotion, and in recent times he has wrestled in Japan for Osaka Pro Wrestling, Dragon Gate and Zero-1 Max. Throughout the years Greg has jobbed out such stars as former ECW Champions Sabu and Raven, ROH World Champions Bryan Danielson & Austin Aries,Al Snow and Billy Kidman. Japanese wrestlers such as Cima and Masato Tanaka, plus independent such as TNA's Frankie Kazarian, Jack Evans and Sonjay Dutt.
In 2009 Greg attended the WWE developmental Training Camp in Florida, USA where he was kept up to date with their training procedures and the ideas WWE management are looking for in their wrestlers.
In his early career, Greg was trained in traditional US and Lucha Libre styles by Rey Mysterio, Sr. and teaches a hybrid international style.
