Barry Guerin

Barry Guerin (born 1971 in Detroit, Michigan) is a professional American mixed martial arts fighter. His first competitive fighting experience began with the Livonia Clarenceville high school Greco-Roman wrestling team. After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1998 with a degree in philosophy he started training at a Jeet Kune Do concept gym with MMA fighter and trainer, Chris Malgeri. He has trained with notable Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts Jean Jacques Machado, Carlos Caique, and Marcello Grosso. As of 2008, he has trained and taught various martial arts for the previous ten years in America, Thailand, South Africa, Guam, and now Japan. He has experience fighting in submission, jiu-jitsu, pancrase, MMA single bouts and tournaments. Currently he is a MMA instructor at the Multidou Dojo in Shinjuku, Japan.
