Fight Zone USA is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts fighting academy located in Signal Hill, California - within the city of Long Beach. Fight Zone USA is the headquarters for the Check-Mat competition jiu-jitsu team and the Vieira Bros in North America. The Vieira Brothers consist of Leonardo Vieira, Ricardo Vieira and Leandro Vieira. History of Fight Zone USA Fight Zone USA was established in 2009 in Long Beach, California. The goal of the academy was to provide a complete martial arts experience in the grappling arts as well as serving as a training ground for the World Championships, held yearly at California State University, Long Beach. History of Fight Zone The original Fight Zone was established by world champion, Ricardo Vieira, in the Copacabana area of Rio de Janeiro at the turn of the century with the goal of providing complete martial arts training for its members. Since its inception, it has become one of the most successful competition academies under Team Check-Mat and it boasts many local and world champions. Check Mat Jiu-Jitsu Team One of the most successful teams in contemporary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Check-Mat's worldwide headquarters is based out of Check-Mat São Paulo, Brazil. Check-Mat or Checkmat was established in 2008 by its founder and head, Leo Vieira. Since its creation, Check-Mat has become one of the top teams in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Currently, team Check-Mat is the 2009 No-Gi World Champion Team. Team Checkmat also came in first for the Brazilian Nationals (Gi) 2010 and Brazilian Nationals (No-Gi) 2010.
