Zane Morris

Zane Morris (born May 5, 1977) is an American professional wrestler. He currently lives and works as an advertising artist in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Early years
Morris began training for wrestling at the United Wrestling Federation - Oklahoma camp in a suburb of Tulsa in May 1994 and had his first match for Power Pro Wrestling, in Council Hill, Oklahoma in March 1995.
Career
Independent circuit / United States and Canada (1995-2005)
Morris began wrestling as a singles competitor before forming a tag team with fellow newcomer Ian St. James. As a tag team Morris and St. James began wrestling throughout Oklahoma, winning the Oklahoma Pro Tag Team Titles,` then in Texas (with the NWA Southwest) where they won the reestablishing NWA-Texas Tag Team Titles via tournament finals over Texas mainstay Iceman King Parsons and his partner Bobo. Morris and James lost the titles to Kit Carson and Khris Germany, however.
Morris and James continued their feud with Carson and Germany throughout Texas, Kansas, New Mexico and Nebraska with Bridgeport, Texas based Bad Boys of Wrestling. Morris and James would also venture to Ontario, Canada to challenge for the Renegade Wrestling Tag Team Championship.
Morris transitioned into a singles competitor as he entered and won the eight-man tournament to establish the first ever NWA Texas Jr. Heavyweight Title, which Zane would hold twice. Zane continued to compete in the Texas independent circuit, winning another eight-man tournament to establish the Professional Championship Wrestling - Texas Light Heavyweight Championship, then spending time with Texas All-Star Wrestling in Houston, Texas and XCW Wrestling in Denton, Texas.
Morris would go on to develop the character "Violent Z" with the help of the writers and staff of Professional Championship Wrestling - Texas with which he found much success wrestling as a heel for the first time on a full time basis.
In 2005 Morris reunited with his good friends and wrestling partners Joey Corman and Samir, who dubbed themselves "The Overboyz" with fellow wrestler Kevin Douglas during a road trip to wrestle each other for NWA Wildside. They took the name because during the match, even though they were unknowns in the area, they had gotten "over". The reunion match was on a benefit card to help offset the medical bills incurred from Joey Corman's recent emergency orchiectomy surgery.
God Can't Give You What You Don't Already Have (2008)
On April 21, 2008 Morris published his first book, God Can't Give You What You Don't Already Have, A New Approach To Getting What You Want.
Return To The Ring (2008 to Present)
On August 16, 2008 Morris returned to the ring to promote his new book. The first appearance was for Asylum Championship Wrestling.. According to his blog, Morris intends to increase wrestling dates to continue to promote the book.
September 27, 2008 Morris defeated female wrestler Kay O in match which stipulated if Morris won, Kay O would be forced to join his "ministry", whereas if Kay O won, Morris would have to dress like a woman, including waxing, high heels, plucking, make up and a thong. With the help of Brother Luc, Morris won the match forcing Kay O to join his team for the next Asylum Championship Wrestling event.
On December 24, 2008 Morris won the Asylum Championship Wrestling Institutional Championship by pinning Kay O after the "ACW Blitz" Match. Later in the evening, Morris lead the tag team of Brother Luc and Reverend Jonathan to winning the Asylum Championship Wrestling tag team titles over the Overthrow Kings, by throwing holy water into the eyes of Lonnie Valdez, allowing Brother Luc to score the pin.
On August 15, 2009 Morris was defeated by "The Human Grenade" Joey Kincaide and lost his coveted championship in front of over 500 people in attendance. In the following months, "Father" Zane Morris would eventually compete in the ACW Championship Lottery on September 26, 2009 when he defeated A. Felony of the D-Linquents to advance to the ACW Championship Battle Royal only to be eliminated.
The show on October 30, 2009 would spark a new rivalry as Father Jack Mecidol would arrive in ACW to eventually oust Morris as the leader of his ministry, blaming him for not converting enough people to their faith and allowing Reverend Jonathan to leave the fold. He would end up losing to El Hoto Loco that night due to interference from Mecidol, and would eventually go on to lose at the December 5, 2009 Cage Wars event with the stipulation that if Morris was to lose, then "Father" Zane Morris was to leave ACW for good.
