Niazi Brothers

Niazi Brothers is a Pakistani qawwali group of singers. They belong to Noharbani Khurja Gharana. The group is famous for Sufi renditions and Punjabi folk songs. The group is now led by Javed Taufiq Niazi supported by his brothers. The group is based in Karachi.
Background
The family belongs to Khurja District, Bulandshahr, U.P, India. Haji Mir Qutub Baksh, who was awarded the title of Tan Ras Khan by Bahadur Shah Zafar and also the honorific of Nawab Atmadul-Mulk for his loyalty. His son Haji Manzoor Niazi and later his grandchildren Abdullah Manzoor Niazi and Makhmoor Niazi continued the tradition of the gharana.
The group
They are popular for rendering of Baba Bulleh Shah’s verses Purdah nahin jab Khuda se, tab insaan se purdah kya. These words had also formed part of the song sung by Anarkali in the film Mughal-e-Azam. They are also popular for rendition of O, Lalini mera piya ghar aaya, a typical Sufi interpretation of spiritual love.
