Nallamilli Venkat Satyanarayan Reddy

N.V.S. Reddy or (Nallamilli Venkat Satyanarayan Reddy) is the managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). He was appointed as the managing director of HMRL in April 2006. Reddy is also the Government Director on the Board of Directors of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd (L&TMRHL).
Early life and background
Reddy graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
Career
Reddy is from Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) He got his first posting in Secunderabad in 1983. He had no prior technical experience before being appointed as managing director of HMRL. He had worked with Konkan Railways. Reddy came on deputation from the Union railway ministry to join Andhra Pradesh Transco subsidiary APNPDCL as its executive director (finance), in July 2002. Later, he was posted as additional commissioner (in MCH) and project director of MMTS, in December 2003.
permanently absorbed into Andhra Pradesh state government service in January 2009 by Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He will continue in the position till his superannuation in June 2020. Reddy was behind the planning and execution of the flyovers project for Hyderabad and also played a pivotal role in realising the Hyderabad metro rail project on basis. Reddy was able to execute the metro project, despite Satyam scandal and apprehensions from former Delhi Metro MD E. Sreedharan.
Personal Life
He has a wife Prathima Reddy, who is the Principal of Kasturba Gandhi College for Women. Their elder son completed MBA at Oxford University while the younger son Arjun completed MS from USA.
