Jannareddy

The Jannareddy family was one of the largest landowners in India, who owned more than 150,000 acres (610 km2) in Warangal District, Andhra pradesh, India.
.
They were the largest landowners in Telangana during 1900-1950. After that period, most of their land was either sold or taken over by The Government under the Land Ceilings Act.
Jannareddy Holdings were begun by Jannareddy Venkat Narasimha Reddy in early 1900s. His 5 sons expanded this holding into the biggest Holding by a single family in Telangana region.
The 5 sons were :
1. Jannareddy Papi Reddy (whose grandson, Jannareddy Janardhan Reddy was a 6 time Member of Legislative Assembly from Mahbubabad Constituency in Warangal District,State of Andhra Pradesh, India).

2. Jannareddy Venkat Reddy ( Whose son Jannareddy Ragotham Reddy was the Vice-Chancellor of A.P.Agricultural University ).
3. Jannareddy Jagannath Reddy (Whose grandson carrying the same name Jannareddy Jagannath Reddy,also known as J.J.Reddy,is a Film Producer and Director who had Directed and Produced the First Digital Telugu Feature Movie " Vegam " in 2007 which won the Bharatamuni Award.ref: http://www.jjreddymovies.com ..J.J.Reddy was also the Creative Director and Partner of Sruthi Computer Graphics, The First Computer Graphic Workstation of Andhra Pradesh which was established in 1986. J.J.Reddy was the convener of the 187 year old school St.George's Grammar School ( Hyderabad ) Alumni Meets which held the First Alumni Meet on 23rd December, 2010 and again on 18th December, 2011).

5. Jannareddy Chenna Krishna Reddy ( Whose son, Jannareddy Madanmohan Reddy is the President at CONFEDERATION OF KISAN ORGANISATIONS (CKO) and grand Daughter, Saritha Reddy, is the daughter-in-law of the Industrialist T. Subbirami Reddy ) .
Mr. Jannareddy Raghotham Reddy, an outstanding member of the Jannareddy family served as the Vice-Chancellor of A.P. Agricultural University from 1978-81. Later, in 1985, he donated his entire land holdings in Malyal Village, Warangal District including the well-developed orchards, residential building, tractors and farm equipment to the A.P. Agricultural University. The Jannareddy Venkat Reddy horticultural research station was then started in Malyal, in honor of Mr. Raghotham Reddy's father. His son, Dr. Jannareddy Hari Krishna is a well-known scientist and engineer, and lives in the United States.
Dr. Jannareddy Hari Krishna earned a Doctorate degree in Engineering at Utah State University, and served as a Faculty member in Utah, U.S. Virgin Islands and Texas. Dr. Krishna served also with FAO, United Nations in Bangkok, Thailand. He was the Director of the V.I. Water Resources Research Institute from 1988-93. Later, he worked for the Texas State Government. Dr. Krishna founded the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) in 1994, and served as its President for 10 years. Dr. Krishna is also the Vice President of the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA) based in Geneva, Switzerland. He was awarded the Environmental Excellence Award in Texas in 2010, and was appointed as a Commissioner for Resource Management in 2011.
