He is also a talented Graphic Designer. The band’s logo, EP cover, band posters and fliers are designed by him.
Musical Style and influence
Buckman is a fan of The Doors, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. His lyrics always encircles around current issues that youth face with the country's situation and also unfolds the anger and frustration that most of us suppress.
Contribution towards Paranoid Earthling
After receiving his first electric guitar, he took the initiative of assembling their first drum kit which was made out of wooden boxes, biscuit tins and bull skin. Shanka Samarasinghe and Mirshad Buckman started to rehearse with this equipment and then were joined by the other two members of the band, Asela Bandara and Dhanushka Samarasinghe. Paranoid Earthling was established in 2000 with this ensemble and has been standing strong with no lineup change to date.
He is the main lyricist for the band and also composer of the melodies for their songs.
