Miles Filus, born in 1959 in Poland as Milosz Filus in a family of Polish doctors. He is a Polish, Australian, and American songwriter, composer, writer, poet, guitarist and singer, world traveler, climber, entrepreneur, business owner, IT Manager, IT Specialist, network engineer, paralegal, IBM and cisco specialist, etc. He lived in many cities, e.g. Koszalin (composed his first song), Warsaw (primary school), Zakopane (high school) was a climber in the Tatra Mountains, studied history, philosophy, ancient languages, and ethics (by Karol Wojtyla, who became the Pope John Paul II the same year) at the Catholic University of Lublin KUL, then, the only non-communist university in Eastern Europe, (today University of John Paul II), fought against the communist system, e.g. in Sandomierz, Lublin, etc., mentioned on a list of persecuted people in Poland at the time, (KOR list). Austria Escaped from Poland in 1980 to Vienna, Austria, and as a political migrant was admitted to Australia within 6 weeks. Australia Studied linguistics, foreign languages, history, etc. at Monash University in Melbourne. While in Australia, he started composing music to poems (sung poetry). Won both first places (jury & public) at the Sacrosong Festival in 1982 in South Australia, for his own composition and performance of the Slowacki poem "Smutno mi Boze". Performed at many organizations, clubs & venues in Australia, like Chopin Society, etc. Received BA degree in 1985. Europe Traveled to Europe in 1985, climbed Mont Blanc, performed in Switzerland and in France, (Paris) metro. It was in Paris where he met his future wife, they both migrated to USA in 1986. California He settled in San Diego, California, where he started a family. Worked for World Medial Technology as a computer tech, and soon started his own computer business "Worldwide Computers", where he worked as a general manager, later studied law at San Diego University and became a paralegal - lawyer assistant. Moved to Long Beach and worked as paralegal and a computer specialist in Long Beach, California at Williams Wooley Cogswell Nakazawa and Russell Law Firm (now Cogswell Nakazawa & Chang Law Firm) for five years. After that, he ran a computer school in Beverly Hills at LA LAN, Inc., where he taught Novell CNA and Microsoft MCSE classes, worked as a Novell, cisco, and Microsoft network consultant throughout California (Los Angeles and San Francisco areas) for many companies like Northrop-Grumman Corporation (F16 Department), Nissan Motor Corporation world headquarters (migration to Windows 95), Camden Asset Management, IBM, Pacific Bell, The Researchers, Quorum Litigation Support, and others. Colorado Moved to Colorado in 1997, where he worked for Lucent-Bell Labs, today Avaya in (Westminster) and IBM (Boulder) as a network engineer and IT specialist. Traveled often to Texas and Florida, supported many global accounts, like Halliburton, State of California, State of Michigan, IBM, Cisco, Gap, Lucent, Merrill Lynch, Kaiser, Logitech, Chiron, ON Semiconductor, and others. He had a major car accident in 2005 and was laid off from IBM shortly thereafter. He started working for International Investments, Inc., and Eldora Lodge as an IT Manager and Network Support Engineer. He is in the process of moving to Florida in 2011. Personal Life Recently, he started his own companies, like Filus Enterprises, LLC. (Real Estate), and Guitar Composer, LLC.(music). He devoted himself to music, writing, and composition in his private studio in the Colorado mountains at 9000 feet above the sea level. Recently performed mostly in Colorado, worked with other musicians and music bands like Euroband, peformed at the Denver Polish Club, Polish church in Denver, and Polish restaurant "Cracovia". He posted some of his music in English and Polish on the internet (mostly YouTube). He has two kids and lives at 9000 feet in the mountains of Colorado, where he performs and works on his new compositions. He is traveling to Florida and Europe in 2011 where he will perform in Fort Lauderdale and Poland (Warsaw and Cracow).
