Jean-Patrick Constantini

A French national of Corsican parents, Jean-Patrick Costantini was born in Tananarive (Madagascar). He is a film director, script writer and line producer.
Early Life
J.P. Costantini’s childhood years were spent travelling with his parents, including Africa and Madagascar. J.P. Costantini studied painting and philosophy in Paris with the renowned French painter and writer, Carlo Suares and studied with him the Hermetic Kabbalah. Carlo Suares being also the french translator of Jiddu Krishnamurti, he introduced J.P. Costantini to him. Jean-Patrick Costantini studied several years under the philosophical and spiritual guidance of Jiddu Krishnamurti.
Film Career
Having directed a short film about Carlo Suares, Traduit du Silence, J.P. Costantini started a career in the film industry in 1973 . Working on over 35 feature films, shooting around the world as 1st Assistant Director then 2nd Unit Director and Production Manager including films such as Le Gitan directed by Jose Giovanni with Alain Delon, Fedora directed by Billy Wilder, A Little Romance directed by George Roy Hill, Le Ruffian directed by Jose Giovanni, L’année des Méduses directed by Christopher Franck , A very long engagement directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Somers town directed by Shane Meadows among others.
He became a line producer in 1985, working on hundreds of commercial films for global clients from all over the world and also on several feature films.
In the last decade, Jean-Patrick has line produced several Bollywood films plus many other films from all over India and become more and more involved in line producing for Indian films such as London Dreams directed by Vipul Shah (2009) and Manmadan Ambu directed by KS Ravikumar (2010).
Jean-Patrick has directed several short movies Traduit du Silence, New York Marathon, and has written a feature film script Walhalla - Le dernier rêve which is under production.
He has also written several film scripts and documentary films including Pasquale Paoli - L’exilé about the period of exiles in England of the Corsican political leader of the 18th century Pasquale Paoli, and especially develops the period related to the French Enlightenment.
Future Projects
His future projects include a French-Indian co-production movie August Conspiracy directed by Yugander V.V. and co-produced by Romesh Sharma.
J.P. Costantini is also working on a book about Annie Besant and J. Krishnamurti.

* 1983 - Le Ruffian, a film shot in Canada with actor Lino Ventura, Claudia Cardinale and Bernard Giraudeau

For more than 15 years Jean-Patrick has worked on over 35 features films shot around the world, including French films such as :
* 1980 - Tous Vedettes directed by Michel Lang, a French music comedy with Leslie Carron, Robert Webber
* 1984 - L’année des Méduses directed by Christopher Franck with Valerie Kaprisky, Bernard Giraudeau, Jacques Perrin
Production Manager
Jean-Patrick Costantini has worked in France on many international projects Production Manager including films such as :
* 1979 - George Roy Hill’s A Little Romance with actors Sir Laurence Olivier, Diane Lane and Sally Kellerman
* 1981 - Fielder Cook’s Gauguin the savage with actors David Carradine and Lynn Redgrave
* 1985 - Billy Wilder's Fedora with actors William Holden, Marthe Keller and José Ferrer
Commercials
In 1985, Jean-Patrick Costantini swapped features for commercials and began producing for prestigious international directors and production companies and he has line produced more than 100 film commercials for clients from all over the world (USA, Canada, South America, South Africa, Asia. etc.)
